How It Works
For ShowKontrol Users
Complete Workflow:
-
Prepare Your Media
- Create DXV video files and WAV audio files
- Use identical filenames for matching video/audio pairs (e.g.,
Song01.movandSong01.wav)
-
Set Up in Resolume Arena
- Load your video clips into Arena
- Arrange clips in your desired layout (decks, layers, columns)
- Set playback mode to SMPTE for timecode sync
- Save your composition
-
Configure TC-Off
- Launch TC-Off and verify the frame rate matches your project (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, etc.)
- Set the ShowKontrol wav base path (the folder containing your audio files)
- Mac users: Use the Browse button to select your audio folder
- Path must be accessible on your ShowKontrol Mac
-
Load and Edit
- Open your Resolume composition in TC-Off
- Review the clip list - all clips are displayed in an organized table
- Set timecode offsets as needed:
- Enter offsets manually in HH:MM:SS:FF format
- Use Find & Replace for bulk changes
- Filter to specific decks or transport modes before editing
-
Configure Audio Mapping
- Review the ShowKontrol wav path column
- If auto-generated paths are correct (matching filenames), you're done
- For mismatched names: Mac users can Cmd+Click any path cell to browse and select the correct audio file
- Paths automatically include volume names for proper ShowKontrol compatibility
-
Export ShowKontrol Setlist
- Click "Export ShowKontrol..."
- Configure OSC options:
- None - No OSC commands (manual triggering)
- Clip Trigger - OSC commands to trigger specific clips
- Deck Select - OSC commands to select decks
- Both - Complete automation with deck and clip control
- Choose M field, A/B field, or both for OSC command placement
- Save the .set file
-
Finalize
- Save your modified composition in TC-Off (creates a new .avc file)
- Reload the composition in Resolume Arena
- Open ShowKontrol and load your .set file
- Open and save each item in ShowKontrol to generate waveforms
- Test your show!

FAQ
Does TC-Off modify my original Arena composition?
Only if you save over it. TC-Off loads your .avc file, lets you edit it, and saves a new file when you use "Save As". Your original file remains unchanged unless you explicitly save over it. We recommend always creating new files with dated names: MyShow_2026-02-01.avc
Will my effects and sources be preserved?
Yes! TC-Off only modifies:
- Timecode offsets
- Transport types (if you change them)
- Clip names (if you edit them)
Everything else (effects, sources, routing, layers, transitions, parameters) is completely preserved.
Can I use this with Resolume Avenue?
TC-Off is designed for Arena which is required for timecode support.
Do I need ShowKontrol to use TC-Off?
No! TC-Off is useful for any timecode editing workflow. ShowKontrol features are optional - you can use TC-Off just for editing offsets, transport types, and exporting documentation.
What if my audio files have different names than video files?
No problem! Mac users can Cmd+Click the ShowKontrol wav path column to browse and select the correct audio file for each clip. The path is automatically formatted with the volume name for ShowKontrol compatibility.
Can I edit clips while Arena is running?
TC-Off works with the .avc file, not the running Arena instance. Edit in TC-Off, save the composition, then reload it in Arena to see your changes.
How do I bulk-change offsets for an entire deck?
- Use the Deck filter to show only that deck
- Use Find & Replace to change offsets
- Check "Visible Only" to affect only the filtered clips
- Changes apply to all matching clips in that deck
